An especially memorable golf course, the Mena House Oberoi Golf Club is dominated by Cairo's nearby pyramids, which tower over many of the holes. The JW Marriott Mirage City and Golf Course is a relatively new addition to the golfing scene in Cairo and is known for its enormous clubhouse and golf academy. Home to the most historic golf course in the whole of Cairo, the Gezirah Sporting Club dates back more than 100 years and is actually famous for being the first golf course in the whole of Egypt. Over the years, this par-72 course has earned itself quite a reputation and has much to live up to, with 18 holes, a yardage of almost 5,900 and extensive sporting facilities, which include swimming pools, floodlit tennis courses, horse riding, playground areas for children, sports fields and even a fitness centre. As you might expect, the green fees here are on the pricey side.

The Dreamland Golf and Tennis Resort is home to a noteworthy, 18-hole golf course, complete with all of the facilities that you would expect at a top course, such as power carts, electronic swing analyser and refreshments around the course, which are always particularly welcomed on hot days. Situated in the suburbs of Cairo, this golf course is well known for its regular golfing tournaments and superb tennis resort, and is part of the enormous Dreamland City development, where you will find a shopping centre, cinemas, theme part and much more besides.

Located around 35 km / 22 miles from the centre of Cairo, the Golf City is home to a notable golf course, with 18 holes and good general facilities. Offering a well-stocked professional shop, golf caddies, club rental and also a driving range, these varied holes boast a number of challenging water features part way round, together with impressive views of the distant cityscape. At the end of the game, the restaurant, bar and terrace areas are especially popular, while the extensive facilities of the Mövenpick Hotel are also nearby.
